1.  The govt has exempted excise duty on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) for domestic airlines flying overseas. This has brought domestic carriers at par with international airlines. However, airlines will continue to pay 11% excise duty on ATF for flying domestically.

2. India's economic performance consistently improved in last 4 yrs, among the top 10 economies, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) said. It cited International Economic Resilience (IER) rankings, wherein India's position improved from 6th in 2019 to 2nd in 2022.

3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will release guidelines for 'Buy Now, Pay Later' (BNPL) service and digital lending later this month, Financial Express reported. 

4. The SEBI has proposed to bring transactions in mutual fund units under insider trading regulations. Insiders would include those who have access to unpublished price-sensitive information and their immediate relatives.

1. The official Instagram handle of Dharma Productions shared a video on Sunday to celebrate seven years since the release of SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali: The Beginning'. 'Baahubali: The Beginning' won the National Award for the Best Feature film in 2016 and director Rajamouli won the Filmfare Best Director-Telugu Award.

2. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran apologised for a dialogue in Malayalam film 'Kaduva' saying differently-abled children are born with their conditions due to the sins of their parents. He also shared director Shaji Kailas' statement in Malayalam which said that they only wanted to convey the villain's cruelty.

1. INS Vikrant successfully completes 4th phase of sea trials.

Defence Ministry said, the ship’s delivery is being targeted by the end of this month, followed by commissioning of the ship in August this year to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

2. 700 youths from J&K have been recruited by terror groups in the past four-and-a-half years, according to Union Home Ministry statistics. As per the data, 82 foreign terrorists and 59 local terrorists were active in the union territory as on July 5, 2022.

3. The Indian Army has recently obtained requisite approvals to induct Mandarin-trained personnel in the Territorial Army for which notification for inviting applications for Mandarin experts into the Territorial Army has been issued on Sunday.

More Mandarin experts are required for better exchange of their own viewpoints and understanding of the PLA version of their activities during various interactions such as Corps Commander level talks, Flag meetings, Joint Exercises, Border Personnel Meetings and others, the Indian Army official statement said.

4. The Indian Army has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Central University of Gujarat (CUG), Shiv Nadar University (SNU) for imparting Mandarin proficiency to its personnel.

1. India has extended an unprecedented support of over 3.8 billion US dollar this year itself for ameliorating the serious economic situation in Sri Lanka. In response to media queries on the situation in Sri Lanka, External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, India will continue to follow closely the recent developments in Sri Lanka. 

2. All current account transactions including trade transactions with Sri Lanka may be settled in any permitted currency outside the Asian Clearing Union (ACU) mechanism until further notice, the RBI said. 

3. The ACU facilitates payments among member countries on a multilateral basis, thereby economising on the use of foreign exchange reserves and transfer costs. Currently, it has nine members.

4. PM Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina on Eid-al Adha on Sunday. 

5. India's second-largest pharmaceuticals firm Aurobindo Pharma is planning to significantly reduce raw material imports from China to mitigate the risk of supply chains disruptions.

 Nepal and India enjoy excellent bilateral ties. The two countries established diplomatic relations on 17 June 1947. The 1950 Indo-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship. Nepal shares a border with 5 Indian states- Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar.

The Sanskrit word Nepalaya means "at the foot of the mountains" or "abode at the foot"; Nepal may be derived from this. The Tibetan word Niyampal means "holy land".

 Nepalese nationals in India are allowed to work in some Indian government institutions (except in some states and some civil services (the IFS, IAS, and IPS)) notably the Indian military. An estimated 32,000 Nepalese citizens are employed as active duty soldiers in the Indian army.

Since late 2015 political issues & Kalapani dispute have strained relations between the two countries with resentment growing amongst the government and people of Nepal. The Sugauli Treaty signed by Nepal and British India on 4 March 1816 locates the Kali River as Nepal's western boundary with India.

The Nepalese parliament objected an agreement between India and China to trade through Lipulekh Pass, a mountainous pass in the disputed Kalapani area, stating that the agreement between India and China to trade through Kalapani violates Nepal's sovereign rights over the territory. Nepal has called for the withdrawal of the Indian border forces from Kalapani area.
