1. Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy inaugurates 'Jyotirgamaya' festival showcasing talent of unsung performers in New Delhi.

2. The Congress will observe a 'Satyagraha' against the 'Agnipath' recruitment scheme on June 27 (Monday). It will be led by MLAs, MPs and leaders from 10 am to 1 pm at all assembly constituencies in their respective states. 

3. Sonia Gandhi ED probe: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said since she has been strictly advised rest at home following her hospitalisation on account of Covid & lung infection, Sonia Gandhi sought postponement of her appearance at the ED office by a few weeks.

7. *HIMACHAL PRADESH* , a three-day workshop on 'Gender Responsible Governance' is being organized in Dharamshala. Around 116 women MLAs from five States and one Union Territory are participating in this workshop.

8.  *J&K* : Flash floods & landslides after heavy rains block highways in J&K, The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was blocked at several places, the Mughal road was blocked due to a landslide at Poshana and SSG road was blocked at Chini Nalla. 9.  *KARNATAKA* : Former PM and JD(S) leader HD Deve Gowda on Wednesday said that Droupadi Murmu is a suitable candidate to be the President of India. Murmu was recently announced as the National Democratic Alliance's Presidential candidate. 

10. *KARNATAKA* CM Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated an IKEA store in Bengaluru's Nagasandra on Wednesday. Spread over 4.6 lakh square feet, this is said to be the largest IKEA outlet in the country. "The company heads have assured 75% jobs for the local people," Bommai said.

13. Senior Shiv Sena leader and state cabinet minister Eknath Shinde has rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray leadership. Mr Shinde has claimed the support of 40 Shiv Sena MLAs out of a total of 55.

14.  Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray left Maharashtra CM's official residence 'Varsha' in Mumbai. A video showed him leaving the bungalow after his staffers were seen putting his packed luggage in a car. He would be moving to his family home 'Matoshree', according to reports.

15. Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Wednesday said, "It is essential to get out of the unnatural front for the survival of the party and Shiv Sainiks." 

16. Amid a political crisis in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said that Uddhav Thackeray is Chief Minister of Maharashtra and he will remain the CM. He also said, "If we get the chance, we will prove our majority on the floor of the House." Notably, Thackeray had said that he was ready to resign from the post.

The State Ministers including Geeta Jeevan and Senji Masthan flagged off the merchant vessel to Colombo, carrying 14,700 metric tonnes of rice, 250 tonnes of milk powder and 50 tonnes of essential medicines.

21.  *TELANGANA* : Speaking at the launch of defence company Vem Technologies Private Limited in Zaheerabad, Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao said the state will play a crucial role in 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. "Vem's investment in Zaheerabad will ensure significant growth for India's defence sector," KTR said. Vem's investment across 511 acres of land would provide direct employment to 2,000 people, KTR added.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday reiterated her "fullest support and cooperation" for Sri Lanka amid the latter's economic turmoil during a meeting with Sri Lankan High Commissioner Milinda Moragoda. India has so far extended loans worth $4 billion to the cash-strapped country. Notably, Sri Lanka plans to host a donor conference and invite countries, including India, to it.

1. PM Modi  attending two-day 14th BRICS Summit hosted by China. The summit will be held in virtual format under the theme of Foster High-quality BRICS Partnership.

Addressing the BRICS Business Forum, PM Narendra Modi said that the value of the Indian digital economy will reach $1 trillion by 2025. The kind of digital transformation that is taking place in India has never been seen anywhere in the world earlier, he added. The forum was held ahead of the 14th BRICS Summit from June 23 to 24.

2. Chinese President Xi Jinping will also chair a High-Level Dialogue on Global Development with guest countries on 24th of June.

3. PM Modi will be on a three-day visit to Germany and UAE beginning 26th of this month. Mr. Modi will visit Schloss Elmau, Germany for the G-7 Summit under the German Presidency on 26th and 27th of this month.

4. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will be on a four-day visit to Kigali in Rwanda  to attend the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Govt Meeting (CHOGM).

5. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday met Pope Francis in Vatican City and gifted him a 'Patachitra' painting.  Patnaik is in Italy at the invitation of the World Food Programme (WFP) and will share Odisha's "transformational journey" in food security and disaster management.

Maha Bali agreed at once to the chagrin of his Guru Shukracharya who cautioned him that the guest was none other than Lord Vishnu Himself.

Vaman occur 1& 2step to Akash & Prithvi and for 3rd option, Bali asks Shri Vishnu to keep on his head…Shri Vishnu does it and Bali got mukti. That's why we celebrated that day also as Bali pratipada. The Lord recognizing his attitude of surrender blessed him and sent him to Pathala with a promise of making him Indra in the next Manvanthara and that He Himself would guard the gates of Pathala.

Acceding to the request of Maha Bali’s people, Vishnu granted Maha Bali permission to return to his kingdom from Pathala, once every year, to be in the midst of his people. This day is celebrated as the Onam festival.

Onam or Thiruonam, usually held in August and September for 10 days, originated in Kerala as a celebration to remember the golden rule of King Mahabali, a mythical king who ruled over Kerala.
